As you can see, 7930 articles expressed no opinion about the role of humans

in regards to global warming or climate change. Of the remaining 4014 paper

abstracts, 97.1 % expressed implicitly or explicitly that humans do contribute

to global warming, but not necessarily that humans are the main cause.

If we don’t exclude the papers whose abstracts didn’t express an opinion about the role of humans, we find that 32.6 % of the papers agreed that humans contribute (at least somewhat) to global warming. 2)

But according to the data file from Cook et al., only 64 papers expressed the view that human activity is the main cause of global warming. These 64 correspond to 1.6 % of the papers that had expressed an opinion, or 0.5 % of all the papers.

Wir überprüfen das jetzt einfach mal? Wir laden das Zip-Archiv runter und schauen uns den Datensatz ab. Dieser ist mit den DOS/WIN-typischen CRLF am Zeilenende. Wissenschaftler die mit DOS/WIN arbeiten? Aha? AUA!1elf

Als ersten Schritt benutzen wir deshalb das Programm dos2unix um den Datensatz brauchbar zu machen. Damit kann der Datensatz problemlos mit grep in einem kleinen Shell-Spript verarbeitet werden. Wir fangen also an zu bashen.

Fazit: Die große Mehrheit von 66,73% macht keine Aussage zum Thema menschengemachtes Erdverglühen. 7,72% gehen von einen mindestens hälftigen Anteil des Menschen aus. Interessant wird es an den Rändern, bei den Extremisten.

• 0,54% glauben an ein vollständig menschengemachtes Erdverglühen
• 0,65% leugenen das Klima und den Klimawandel

Es gibt also mehr Klimaleugner als Klimawandelisten und die große Mehrheit enthält sich der schrillen, kreischenden Diskussion.

Ach so, ja! Konsens ist nach alter Lesart eine Übereinkunft in religiösen Grundsatzfragen. Nach der neuen Lesart ist Konsens eine durch Propaganda geschaffene Zustimmung. Ist dieser Konsens jetzt Religion oder Propaganda? Oder beides?
